• ताज महल का निर्माण कार्य बर्ष 1632 में शुरू हुआ था और यह वर्ष 1653 तक बनकर तैयार हुआ था
• इस सुन्‍दर मकबरेे काे बनाने में तकरीबन 22 साल का समय लगा था
• ताजमहल में लगभग 20,000 मजदूरों , कारीगरों और बहुत सारे शिल्पकारों ने काम किया
• ताजमहल का मुख्य गुंबद 60 फीट ऊँचा और 80 फीट चौड़ा है
• ताजमहल में फव्‍वारे किसी पाइप नहीं जुडे हुऐ बल्‍िक हर फव्‍वारेे के नीचे एक तावें का टैंक है और सभी टैंकों को एक ही समय पर भरा जाता है जिससे दबाब बनने पर ये फव्‍वारे चलतेे हैं
• औरंगाबाद स्थित बीबी के मकबरे को मिनी ताज महल क‍हा जाता है
• ताजमहल बनाने वाले कारीगर का नाम अहमद लाहौरी था इन्‍हें ईराक से बुुलाया गया था
• ताजमहल की नींव में एक विशेष प्रकार की लकड़ी का प्रयोग हुआ है जो कि अब यमुना के जलस्तर कम होने के कारण सूखती जा रही है
• ताजमहल के चारों और की मीनारों की ऊॅचाई 41.6 मीटर है 
• ताजमहल के सामने जो बैठने के लिए जो बेंच लगी हैै उस बेंच का नाम डायना बेंच है
• ताजमहल में शाहजहां और मुमताज की कब्र के ऊपर एक लैंप लटका हुआ है जो मिस्त्र के सुल्‍तान बेवर्सी दि्तीय की मस्जिद के लैंप की नकल है
• ये लैंप 18 फरवरी, 1906 को ताजमहल में पहली बार जलाया गया था
• मुमताज और शाहजहॉ की असली कब्र ताजमहल के तहखाने में हैं इस कब्रों पर अल्लाह के 99 नाम खुदे हुए हैं
• क्‍या आप जानते हैंं कि ताजमहल के साथ पहली सेल्‍फी George Harrison नाम के व्‍यक्ति ने ली थी
• ताज को आप सुबह देखने पर ताज गुलाबी दिखता है, शाम को दुधिया सफ़ेद और चांदनी रात में सुनहरा दिखेगा
